The role of DayCare is to provide social care for psychiatry patients. It can be effective in returning the patient or client to integrate into the community.
Chetana Day Care Center is dedicated to empowering individuals recovering from mental illness by promoting social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being. The center's mission is to help individuals live with dignity, enjoy social interactions, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and manage their illness independently with the necessary support.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals with low functioning due to psychiatric illness.
- Stable clinical state.
- Recently discharged from psychiatric settings.
- Lack of sufficient support at home for a structured routine.
- Need for respite care.
- Those not yet settled into a stable state but without high-risk behaviors or thoughts.
Training and Activities
Chetana Day Care Center offers a variety of activities, both individual and group sessions, to cater to specific needs and promote skill development.
Activities Provided
- Activity Scheduling: Help individuals develop daily planning and time management skills.
- Skills Training: Enhance social interaction, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Vocational Training: Offer opportunities to explore and develop vocational skills for potential employment or volunteer work.
- Family Sessions: Provide psychoeducation to families, equipping them with knowledge to build supportive networks, reduce burdens, and foster resilience.
